Grandma’s Goulash recipe
Here is a traditional recipe for Grandma’s Goulash:
Ingredients:
1 pound beef or pork, cut into 1-inch cubes
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons paprika
1 teaspoon caraway seeds (optional)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup beef broth
1 cup diced tomatoes
1 cup sliced bell peppers
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1 cup cooked egg noodles
Instructions:
- Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the beef or pork and brown on all sides.
- Remove the meat from the pot and set aside.
- Add the onion and garlic to the pot and sauté until softened.
- Stir in the paprika, caraway seeds, salt, and pepper.
- Return the meat to the pot and add the broth, tomatoes, bell peppers, and mushrooms.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 1-2 hours or until the meat is tender.
- Serve over cooked egg noodles.
Note: You can also add some potatoes or carrots to the recipe for added sweetness
