Grandma’s Goulash

Grandma’s Goulash recipe
Here is a traditional recipe for Grandma’s Goulash:
Ingredients:

1 pound beef or pork, cut into 1-inch cubes
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons paprika
1 teaspoon caraway seeds (optional)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup beef broth
1 cup diced tomatoes
1 cup sliced bell peppers
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1 cup cooked egg noodles

Instructions:

  1. Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add the beef or pork and brown on all sides.
  3. Remove the meat from the pot and set aside.
  4. Add the onion and garlic to the pot and sauté until softened.
  5. Stir in the paprika, caraway seeds, salt, and pepper.
  6. Return the meat to the pot and add the broth, tomatoes, bell peppers, and mushrooms.
  7. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 1-2 hours or until the meat is tender.
  8. Serve over cooked egg noodles.

Note: You can also add some potatoes or carrots to the recipe for added sweetness
